Been going through the deceased in-laws piles and piles of stuff (they didn’t throw much away), and recently came across an old chest full of things saved from trips, birthday cards, trinkets, my wife’s report cards, pictures, and a airline ticket from a trip they took when my wife was 6 months old in ‘81

At least I THINK it was in ‘81. There was a record of them going on a first flight with a baby, and these were the only tickets I found, and they had THREE seats reserved. I’ve never heard of the airline, but I know those cars!

Also found a picture of an old car, not sure who’s it was

Kinja'd!!!

And a picture of my father in law, looking like a bad ass

Northwest Orient, that’s a name I haven’t heard in ages. I never flew them but they were around for a long time until the combination of low cost carriers like Southwest and 9/11 killed them. I think Delta bought them out.

The car looks like a 53 Ford with a mystery badge on the hood, the hood might be from a Mercury with that scoop/ornament.

The rental car thingy says “Rev 6-75" at bottom right, probably means revised in June 75. The pictured car looks like a 75-76 LTD, so that fits. They might have used the same ad for several years.
